It can withstand substrate temperatures of over 2000°F! In addition, direct flame will not cause delamination and is designed to protect and insulate exhaust system components…either be it cast iron, SS, or mild steel. It produces a very hard, velvety smooth, chemical resistant, durable, and color stable finish.

This is the Pike’s Peak of inside AND outside “dual stage” exhaust coating technology. The FULL enchilada. If a little bit of something is good…then a little bit more is even better! “Single stage” ceramics…so called “turbo coatings”, spray plasma, and colorful fashion statements cannot hold a candle to our dual stage procedure. Not biased…just fact.

Many people throughout the years have asked us if we coat the ID of manifolds, turbine housings, etc WITH the CGB coating we offer. This has been a big fat “no” in the past and still is a big fat “no” today as CGB alone is not designed to be used on the inside of a part.

INTRODUCING...CGB XTREME

 

 

The formulation we use on the ID is specifically designed for the inside of exhaust components. Originally, it was designed to be used inside chrome headers in the hotrodder sector to keep them from bluing. It offers up excellent thermal barrier qualities. Direct flame doesn’t even phase this stuff. And the fantastic side benefit? It smooths out the surface of the part when applied. So all those cast iron users will LOVE this fact alone. This right here alone is what separates us from them. And trust us, as with most other shops out there that toss their guns around when coating a component (and they really do), we don’t subscribe to that haphazard approach.

Being as we’re firm believers in providing the flattest, cleanest possible surface for a gasket to sit on and operate correctly, we painstakingly mask off any gasket surfaces (or V-Band areas). We also plug all threaded holes (never screw into gunk) and mask any openings where the coating should not go.
