BABE OF THE WEEK

(B.O.W.)

Time to put the kiddies to bed...

Presenting our series of cryogenically processed 2.0 Mitsu heads. With our process applied, the fear of warpage and cracking is virtually removed as well as overall head temperature reduced. No matter what your budget and/or application is, we've got a Level that is right for you.

There is absolutely NONE better out there.

Each head we do is put through a rigorous step by step process before we put our stamp of approval on it. It involves:

  • Full CRYO Processing treatment

  • Complete disassembly of head including removal of all oil galley plugs

  • Jet wash cleaning

  • Bead blasted

  • All screw holes in head chased and cleaned

  • Both intake and exhaust ports are line sanded for flatness

  • Jet washed a second time

  • Blueprinting of guides and valve stem straightness

  • Radiusing of the seats on a Sunnen seat and guide machine

  • Surfacing on a Storm-Vulcan to assure absolute flatness

  • Jet washed a third and final time

  • Head spray painted with special aluminum based paint

  • Spark plug bores polished as well as rocker cover gasket surface shined

  • Cam journals polished

  • Blue Viton valve guide seals installed

  • Wirebrush cleaning, polishing, and thread chasing of factory studs for Tstat housing, CAS, intake, and exhaust

  • Pressure check of all springs for balance throughout

  • Final assembly with springs, retainers, and keepers

  • Cherry on top

  • Go drink a beer

  • To us, cylinder head rebuilding isn't just a quick scrubbing, doing the necessary machine work, and get it out the door for the sake of getting it out the door. This is art. Either be it the entry level heads we offer, or the all out, big bucko full comp heads...they ALL receive this same process.

Where did all of our ported heads go???

We will no longer be grinding on heads at this time. We are doing extensive R&D to achieve the best shaped port for big power applications. We will not sell another ported head until we have achieved that goal. Although a minor inconvenience to some of our customers, we feel that this will ultimately benefit everyone in the end. The best will be getting even better. Stay tuned...the wait will be worth it.

UPDATE: The unveiling for our new ported heads is: "to be announced"

    LEVEL I

You say a broken timing belt has ruined your day? Perhaps you let your temp gauge go East and didn't know it until steam was coming out from under the hood. Relax...we've got it covered. This first level in our cylinder head series will get you going quickly and economically. A good. solid "freshening" that won't break the bank.

$550.00 Level I (using your good core)  Does NOT include cams, rockers, or lifters.

If your head has been victimized by a broken timing belt, chances are a few guides will need to be replaced and/or some bent valves. There is an additional charge for these items but if you're nice and flood us with flattery, we'll work with you.

    STREET DOMINATOR

Since this head setup has gotten quite popular for a lot of the street guys that hit the strip every once in awhile, we went ahead and packaged this up to make it easier for everybody.

Introducing the Street Dominator head gig.

You get the same treatment as our Level 1 head but with these goodies thrown in for that "little extra" under hood. This head is good for another 15 CFMs over stock and reliable as hell with no BS. There is no reason why this head wouldn't be at home just fine if you're shooting for the 11s. This head plain and simple, just WORKS.

Supertech sngle springs with Ti retainers installed. Good and solid valve control up to 8 grand.

We bore out the seats a bit and squeeze in 1mm over Supertech black Nitrided SS valves on both sides with under cut stems on the intake side for added flow.

Our stainless steel manny stud kit screwed in along with the heavily embossed SCE exhaust manny gasket to top it off.

To give you an idea of the attention to detail we give to all of our heads, this is just a taste of what we do with the studs that poke out. No...these are NOT stainless pictured here for the t-stat housing. Just stocker studs cleaned and polished up FFWD style. We're just sik like that.

    To recap, this gig includes:

  • Level 1 head services as listed above including cryo processing

  • Supertech single spring kit with Ti retainers

  • 1mm over Supertech black nitrided valves

  • Exhaust manny stud kit

  • SCE copper exhaust manny gasket

  • Install it and go dominate the streets

  •

$1200.00 Street Dominator (using your good core)  Does NOT include cams, rockers, or lifters.

If your head has been victimized by a broken timing belt, chances are a few guides will need to be replaced. There is an additional charge for this but if you're nice and flood us with flattery, we'll work with you.

    S/S DOMINATOR

    NEW STUFF!

If you're one of the rev to the moon types with your car, this head is for you.

This head is outfitted just like our Street Dom head but with the added installation of high-performance bronze valve guides and our Bee-MAD spring kit.

This pic highlights our surface finish on the S/S Dom head (as good as the digicam would allow at least). Ever wonder why you just can't seal that gasket to the block no matter what you do? Chances are, a rough head surface finish isn't helping you by doing the nasty and testing your patience.

What you do NOT want, is a finish that allows you to catch cutter grooves (that was left from the surfacing machine) with your fingernail. What this will do in those extreme boost situations is give those combustion gases a place to "track" to...such as to a water hole (watch that puke tank spit-up like a newborn that just ate at Heart Attack Grill), or perhaps to another cylinder.

For the best in sealing that headgasket, a super smooth finish is necessary. We feel that we have access to the best cylinder head surfacer in the state that yields such a finish to help keep that head from trashing a gasket at high cylinder pressures.

Our "rainbow" finish is smooth enough for you to grab a ball point pen, and write your name on the surface without feeling any surface imperfections whatsoever. Accept no less.

To recap, the S/S Dominator head includes:

  • Level 1 head services as listed above including cryo processing

  • Bee-MAD spring kit

  • Bronze valve guides (pressed in at factory height)

  • 1mm over Supertech black nitrided valves

  • Exhaust manny stud kit

  • SCE copper exhaust manny gasket

  • "Rainbow" finish surface treatment

  • Install it, go dominate the track, and then check if you have any beer money left

  •

$1525.00 S/S Dominator (using your good core)  Does NOT include cams, rockers, or lifters.
