Thermal Dispersant VADER is a submicron thermal conductivity management system developed for enhancing heat transfer away from an energy source.


Heat kills parts.


This simple summation was something we wanted to address…and rectify. We believe we have found a way to increase the life of crankshafts and connecting rods as well as lower the core temps of intake manifolds for increased power.

CRANKSHAFTS

 

 

We’ll start off by saying heat transfers more rapidly when there is a large difference in temperature. This coating disperses heat by shedding oil from off of the component quicker. By shedding the oil more rapidly, cooler oil is splashed onto the part more frequently. If oil “sticks” to the part longer, it absorbs less heat and blocks cooler oil from contacting the hot surface.

 

We don’t want that.

 

You have to remember…the longer hot oil sticks to the crank, the more the crank is going to increase in temperature. The hotter the crank becomes, the more its yield strength goes down. Heat beats up parts…heat likes your pocketbook. VADER will help prevent this from happening.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

INTAKE MANIFOLDS

 

 

By applying Vader coating to this intake, we were able to lower the core temps of the piece by 14%. And you know what that means….MORE POWER.

That’s sort of a BFD (big f’in deal). Where else can one simple but powerful process could yield such fantastic results?

By lowering the core temp, you also lower the air charge temp….resulting in a more dense, cooler suck-in breath of air. You don’t need that air hot enough to blow dry Cher’s hair on a humid day in August.

To give a related example, it’s a known fact that on “Cup” cars in NASCAR, this coating is actually illegal because it worked so well on the smaller radiators they mandated. Those buggers simply would not overheat when drafting…which is what NASCAR wanted them to stop doing in the first place. Not a bad story.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ROCKER COVERS

 

 

The rocker cover is an excellent place to start your journey on cooler underhood temps. For years, we have powercoated rockers for appearance and durability…but now taking it a bit further, we can offer you VADER. VADER coating not only disperses the heat, it is VERY chemical resistant and will maintain its appearance for a very long time. Say goodbye to yuckiness.

The underside can also be done. What does THAT do? This is where the oil-shedding capabilities of VADER really shine as it will keep oil from “sticking” to the rocker and just let it glide back down to the head…and then glide back down into to the pan…where it should be.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

OUR ROOTS

 

Where it all started.

And it goes without saying (but we’ll say it anyway) we apply this coating to our flagship aluminum racing rod. Over 300 abusive passes…over 10 grand through the traps…60 plus pounds of boost…multiple season usage…swinging hard and violent in 7 and 8 second cars.

No other connecting rod like it in the world…in its design, features, and advantages. We feel that our VADER coating is an important slice of the equation why our connecting rods are at the top of their class…
