BABE OF THE WEEK

(B.O.W.)

Time to put the kiddies to bed...

ARP

 CRANK SPROCKET BOLT/WASHER

Brand new stuff from FFWD!

These stout brutes can take all the torque you choose to throw at them when attaching that crank sprocket. Their construction is of high grade, 200000 PSI tensile strength, 8740 Chrome Moly steel. Used in ARPs finest fasteners.

These crank bolts feature a 12 point head with much more area that you can apply that torque with. Just slap on a 19mm 12 point socket and you're in business to screw it down. And for those that degree in your cams, this offers a much more precise way of attaching your breaker bar to the crank bolt...no slop that is offered with the weenie 6 point hex head or worse yet, the 1/2" square peg hole in the head of the stocker bolt. If you've ever degreed in a cam, you would really appreciate that benefit alone.

We haven't even talked about the washer yet!

Installed on the crank sprocket, you'll find that the days of squeezing in the stock washer within the I.D. of the sprocket's washer shoulder are a gone if using ARP's. Have you ever broke the washer shoulder off on that sprocket just because the stock washer's O.D. was just too large? And just HOW did it get too large? From many years of squashing itself down from the bolt...pancake style. Toss it all. Just not worth the risk.

Why put up with the crap of wallered out bolt snouts? This is a very common problem with the stockers. Anytime you're wrenching down on this bolt with only four sides of contact, this is what you eventually end up with.

ROD BOLTS

If you're using the stock big rods in your motor and looking to get the most durability from them, there is one area that leaves something to be desired........the cap bolts. Get them outta there and press in these bad-boys.
